Privacy Policy

TGS Studios apps collect as little as possible: an account so your lists save, your Premium status from Apple or Google, and basic crash data. We never sell your data and the apps show no ads.

This policy covers Rock Rank and every other app published by TGS Studios (Pop Rank, R&B Rank, Rap Rank and Country Rank when they launch), and the website tgsstudios.net. TGS Studios is the trade name of Joseph Marini, an individual sole proprietor in Massachusetts (“we”, “us”).

What we collect

Account details. If you create an account, we store your email address (or the private relay address Apple or Google gives us if you sign in with them) and a display name if you choose one. You can use the free version without an account.
What you make in the app. Your saved rankings, your own top artists, your Rank Artists Your Way settings, favorites, saved comparisons and your fan-ranking votes.
Purchase status. Whether you have Premium, which plan, and when it renews or ends. Apple or Google handles the payment itself; we never see your card or bank details.
Messages you send. If you use Suggest a missing artist or email us, we keep what you send and your email address so we can reply.
Diagnostics. Your device type, operating system, app version and crash reports, used only to keep the apps working.

We do not collect your contacts, photos, precise location or browsing history, and we do not use advertising trackers.

How we use it

To run the apps: save your lists, unlock the Premium features you’ve paid for and keep your settings across devices.
To count fan-ranking votes. Only totals are shown; no one can see how you voted, and your display name is never shown publicly.
To answer your messages and consider artist suggestions.
To fix bugs and improve the apps.

We share data only with the service providers that run the apps for us, and only what they need:

Apple and Google, to process purchases and subscriptions under their own privacy policies.
Our hosting, sign-in, purchase-management and crash-reporting providers, which store and process data on our behalf. We list them by name here before launch.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We may disclose information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time: in the app (Your Account, then Delete account) or on the web at tgsstudios.net/delete, which also works if you no longer have the app. Deletion removes your account, saved lists and settings, and removes your votes from the fan-ranking totals.

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings, or it will keep renewing.

Security

All data travels between the apps and our servers over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Only we and our service providers can reach stored data, and only to run the apps. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

Children

Our apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, email us and we will delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, download or delete the personal information we hold about you. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. For important changes, we will tell you in the app before they take effect.
