Terms of Use

These terms cover Rock Rank and every other app published by TGS Studios. TGS Studios is the trade name of Joseph Marini, an individual sole proprietor in Massachusetts (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using our apps, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use them.

The apps

Rock Rank ranks rock artists using publicly available sales, award, chart and critics’ list information, combined by our own scoring method. Our other apps do the same for their genres. Each app has a free version; Premium unlocks every artist and all features in that app.

Premium pricing and billing

• Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account when you confirm the purchase. With the free trial, nothing is charged until the trial ends; then $19.99 is charged automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
• The free trial is available once per Apple or Google account.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings; Premium continues until the end of the period you paid for.
• Deleting your account or the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own refund policies; we cannot issue refunds for store purchases.
• If you change phones, use Restore Purchases in the app. Premium bought on iPhone also works on Android, and the other way round, when you sign in with the same account.
• Premium in one app does not include our other apps. Premium members get 20% off Premium in each of them.
• Prices may change. A price change never affects a period you have already paid for, and Apple or Google will tell you before it applies to a renewal.
• “Lifetime” means for as long as we offer and support that app. If we ever stop supporting it, we will give at least 90 days’ notice in the app.

Rankings are our opinion

Rank Scores and rankings are editorial opinions produced by our scoring method from the data we collect. They are not official charts and are not endorsed by any artist, record label, the Recording Academy, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Billboard or Rolling Stone. We correct errors when we find them and update the rankings once a year, but we do not guarantee every figure is complete or exact.

Using the apps fairly

• Use our apps for your own personal enjoyment.
• Don’t copy, scrape or republish the rankings or data in bulk, or use them to build a competing product.
• Don’t try to break, overload or reverse-engineer the apps.
• Keep anything you submit (artist suggestions, display names) free of abuse and other people’s private information.

No one else sees what you save or how you vote, so the apps have no public posts to moderate. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.

Content and trademarks

Our original work belongs to TGS Studios: the Rock Rank name and logo, the app design, the scoring method, the rankings and Rank Scores, and our written descriptions. The facts behind the rankings (sales figures, chart positions, award wins) belong to no one, and artist names, song and album titles are used only to identify them; they belong to their owners. The apps use no artist photos or album art. Links to Spotify, Apple Music or Ticketmaster take you to their services, under their own terms.

Disclaimers and limits

Our apps are provided “as is”, for entertainment. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the apps, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or for a Lifetime purchase, the price you paid. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

Changes and ending

We may update these terms. We will post the new version with a new effective date and, for important changes, tell you in the app at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using the apps after that, the new terms apply. You can stop using the apps and delete your account at any time.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. This does not take away any consumer protections you have under the laws of the place where you live.
